My
name is Simon Goodall and I am the owner of Dog Guru. I have
worked and studied for a number of years specialising in canine
behaviour. I have completed a Bachelor of Science in Zoology
and Psychology and specialised in canine behaviour. In addition
to this I have also been admitted onto the International
Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants and I'm a
professional member of the International
Association of Canine Professionals which shows that I
am an internationally recognised canine behaviourist.
I have trained over the years hundreds of dogs
ranging from jumping to separation anxiety to aggression.
I love training dogs and your dog regardless of the problem
will be no exception.
I am also a columnist in the Metpet Magazine
for specialist behaviour advice. This is a nationwide magazine
with 30,000 copies delivered throughout New Zealand and our
columns are widely read and has excellent advice on dealing
with behavioural problems.
I also write columns for DogLinks
website and have written a number of replies to people with
behavioural problems. This is New Zealand's most popular website
about dogs and has numerous columns that I have written over
the years.
I am also referred by animal shelters, veterinarians,
dog owners, dog breeders, pet shops and of course many past
clients.
I have worked over the years with hundreds of
dogs and you cannot afford to get in a trainer that has not
had that experience especially when dealing with major problems
such as aggression and separation anxiety.
On a personal note I was born and bred in Auckland.
I moved away after finishing at Auckland Grammar School to
Massey University in Palmerston North where I studied for
a Bachelor of Science majoring in Zoology and Psychology.
This has given me an insight into the animal and canine world
where the papers and qualifications are world class. I learnt
a great deal at the University and also met my wife Michelle
there.
I am married to Michelle and have a young daughter
Rebekah and a son Matthew. We currently live in Papakura where
I own one golden retriever Oska, losing our other golden retriever
Sherlock to cancer at the start of the year. When I was growing
up we had two cats and a golden retriever. We would like to
get another dog within a year but having two young children
we will just leave it for a few months.
I am dedicated to providing you with the
best service possible and look forward to meeting you and
working with your dogs. Don't hesitate to contact
me for any further information.
